Syracuse University’s Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited online Master of Social Work program is preparing a new type of social worker: a social worker who knows how to use the power of technology to advocate for vulnerable communities. A leader who is an expert in change and walks toward discomfort, not away.
No GRE Required
Advanced Standing Available
The online MSW curriculum is designed around the following:
Become a social worker who recognizes the dignity of all people and understands the diverse experiences that shape individuals and communities.
Become a social worker who understands the expectations of the digital world and embraces technology as a part of the future of the profession.
Become a social worker who is committed to providing care for service members and embraces Syracuse University’s reputation as the No. 1 private institution for veterans—ranked by the Military Times.¹
Our program enables you to align your degree with your experience level and goals.
We offer Traditional and Advanced Standing online MSW tracks. The accelerated Advanced Standing track skips foundational coursework and is designed for those who have a bachelor’s degree in social work.
Our Advanced Integrated Practice and Advanced Clinical Practice concentrations both prepare you to sit for licensure exams, of which our on-campus MSW students have higher average pass rates than national and New York State averages.²
Using Syracuse University’s broad network, we will help you secure field placements in your local community. You will have support throughout the entire field placement process and will be able to keep track of your progress in our digital placement portal.
